B-Leisure: How to successfully mix work and play

The modern workplace is becoming more adaptable and flexible in nature. With corporates increasingly adopting ‘work from home’ policies and flexible working hours, the line between personal and professional lives is blurring. Millennials have embraced this flexibility and freedom, especially with respect to travel and often extend their business trips to include leisure days or experiences. Bleisure is a commonly used term for when employees combine their business trips with leisure activities. Corporate houses are increasingly allowing flexibility in business trips to adapt to this rising trend. Thus, there has been a significant increase in number of bleisure trips, both domestically and internationally.

Women in Travel & Tourism

Today’s international outbound tourism market has witnessed the brisk growth of the female traveller segment. Female travellers currently comprise 50% of the world’s leisure travel population and have become the primary target market for many tourism businesses. Globally, women play a significant role in tourism, as visitors, hosts and employees in the tourism sector. Women are travel influencers and are increasingly gaining importance in travel consumption. Female travellers possess strong purchasing power and demonstrate a greater intent than their male counterparts to spend more at tourism destinations.

In this session, we will like to share the motivations, needs, expectations of women as travellers, the services currently available to provide for and target this market and the various opportunities available to the industry in terms of services and business opportunities.
